A cozy greenhouse with uncommon plants and a sun-loving cat
Grown with love in Byron, MN.
Cinder’s Greenhouse is named after our beloved cat, Cinder, who spends her days sunning herself among the seedlings and making friends with the plants. She’s been here from the beginning—our curious little co-gardener.
We started over three years ago by growing plants just for family and friends, focusing on quirky, hard-to-find varieties that made us smile. These days, we grow a few extra for our neighbors and local plant lovers. We usually sell out fast, so come early for the best pick of the bunch!
💚 Growing for Good- Every plant sold helps nourish more than just your home. We proudly donate a portion of all sales to the local food pantry, supporting families in our local community.

You’ll often find her curled up in a sunny spot, taking her well-deserved naps, or curiously inspecting the plants (she takes her job as garden supervisor very seriously).
““A little soil, a lot of sunshine, and the perfect spot for a nap—that’s my kind of day.” – Cinder
Each spring, we fill our greenhouse with a mix of favorites and hard-to-find gems for outdoor gardens, grown with natural, organic-centered practices (though we’re not certified). We focus on doing things right: sourcing high-quality seeds from reputable sellers and saving seeds from our own garden when we can.
We started in year one with a wild mix of fun and unique peppers—and we’ve kept that tradition alive while adding new varieties each season. You’ll also find a rotating cast of flowers, herbs, and veggie starts… sometimes even a surprise or two.
I’m excited to share a fresh lineup of peppers, tomatoes, and more this season.
From Frostbite (a striking ghost pepper) to Bronze Fennel, plus more basil varieties than I can reasonably list, there will be plenty to explore.
I’m especially excited to announce some new culinary options this year, including Korean Gochu, Michigan’s Mad Hatter tomato, African Molokhia, an edible and ornamental Thai basil, Ailsa Craig from Scotland, Japanese Okahijiki, and more.
Don’t worry—longtime favorites are back too. Minnesota’s own Mini Cantaloupe will have a few plants available (if I don’t keep them all myself!). Below is just a small preview of what will be offered.
Photos and additional plant information will be available at the May sale. Quantities are limited for each variety. Photos belong to their respective owners.
